the lake house on canandaigua

The highlight of your stay will be the expansive lawn space with covered patio space and numerous fire pits across the hotel property, with what feels like unending options for taking in the view of the lake. It’s just the waterfront spot you’ve been dreaming of, a favorite with locals and visitors alike. After a complete tear-down and rebuild, The Lake House on Canandaigua reopened in 2020, retaining the best of the details of the original destination while elevating the guest experience tenfold. The new 124-room hotel now boasts a gorgeous, fresh design, an intimate spa and fitness center, space for events, delicious dining options, and more options for activities than you could enjoy in one stay. Secluded from the noise of everyday life, our property is the ideal, timeless setting, with easy access to the lake, vibrant garden and pool, and endless pampering and adventure options for guests. Break bread and dance the night away together in one of our flexible gathering spaces, from our cozy Library Bar to the spacious Event Barn.

Which of the following wedding events does your venue service?

On top of that, they include decorative wooden tables that match the aesthetic and vineyard cross-back chairs for a relaxed yet upscale look. Some of you might have seen on my social media that my family spends a lot of time on Canandaigua Lake in the summer. The Rose Tavern is the property’s more elevated dining space, an impressive New American-style restaurant with fresh, seasonal dishes that show off the bounty of the Finger Lakes. The hotel works extensively with local farmers to provide the freshest ingredients, though a new greenhouse and planted vegetable and herb gardens at The Lake House means an increasing amount is picked fresh by chefs before every meal.

Though the intimate spa offers six treatment rooms you’ll find an impressive menu of services to choose from, including massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, and body treatments. The relaxation room at the back of the spa has beautiful views of the lush garden and waterfront, and is filled with light and warmth. Is there any dreamier way to spend a hot summer day than by the lake? For an experience that embodies the best of nostalgic days by the water of summers past, the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York is arguably the best destination. The region and its eleven finger-like lakes are home not only to lakeside fun but to world-class wineries, rolling hillsides, and concerts and cultural events worth traveling for, but close to everything. One of the biggest perks about having your wedding at The Lake House on Canandaigua is their on-site dressing suite, which adjoins the wedding suite.

They call it the Event Barn, but the only “barn” thing about it is the wood. Inside, the design and the entire aesthetic feels elevated and contemporary. The lawn is laid out for leisure pursuits, including fire pits, corn hole, and a sparkling pool, most with views of Canandaigua Lake. While you are outside, poolside refreshments can be ordered from their more casual restaurant – the Sand Bar.

Privately located on the southwest corner of the property is our stunning timber-frame lakefront venue called the Event Barn; “barn” referring to its wooden structure. Owners Bill and Lindsay Caleo worked with renowned Brooklyn-based design agency Studio Tack on the interior design. Upon arriving inside the lobby, guests are welcomed by warm smiles, creamy neutrals, rich leathers, and a relaxed yet elevated aesthetic. Just off the lobby is their library, which doubles as a spot for morning brunch. It's a quiet place to read on velvet chairs and banquettes. Like many other interior rooms, the lobby opens up to the lawn with Canandaigua Lake just beyond the boardwalk.

A myriad of on-site amenities await you including a full-service luxury spa complete with a picturesque sauna garden, heated lakefront pool, year-round hot tub, private daybeds, and boating activities in summer, and nearby skiing in winter. The Finger Lakes region in New York is a popular destination wedding location for so many reasons. However, it can be challenging to find the right venue if you're not from there or you don't live there full time. Most of my couples live in major cities along the east coast and have sentimental ties to the area. I was working with a couple a few years ago and they loved the idea of having a wedding on the water in the Finger Lakes. But this couple, like many others, was planning a destination wedding to the Finger Lakes and most of their guests were traveling significantly to attend, so they all needed a place to stay.

Top 20 Overlooked Questions to Ask Your Wedding Venue

Nearby, downtown Canandaigua features historic Main Street’s shopping district, and the surrounding region offers charming local wineries and breweries, and Bristol Mountain ski resort in winter has over 1,200 vertical feet drops. 22 Ceiling Design Ideas to Make a Statement

ceiling design new

This living room ceiling idea is a new twist on the barrel-vault design. Light wood ceiling beams contrast the room's dark gray walls and rich blue floor. The gently bowed arches lend a protective, sheltered feeling to a room designed for informal gathering and relaxation. The term coffered ceiling often connotes a crisscross of heavy ornamental beams that create a grid of deep recesses in a lofty ceiling. But you can create a similar low living room ceiling idea with much less material and trouble by applying a grid of stock moldings to the ceiling. For added contrast, paint the moldings in a color or sheen that contrasts with the ceiling's planar surfaces.

Black and White Home Interior Design Ideas

A graphic motif by London-based designer Beata Heuman draws the eye up in this sophisticated butler's pantry. To pull the space together, designer Alexandra Kaehler paired the colorful pattern with green cabinetry (Benjamin Moore’s Essex Green) and a reflective mosaic backsplash from Tile Bar. A good ceiling design will combine both form and function to create a unique and stylish space. Downlights combined with pendant lights can also be used to create a unique design. This will allow you to highlight the island or create a well-illuminated central countertop.

Coffered Ceilings

This living room embraces these elements by continuing the wood look on the mantel in a similar finish. The tall ceiling helps bounce light around the white walls and reveals the variegated grain and geometric structure of the roof. In this contemporary living room, large windows illuminate the entire room—a fairly common practice in modern home design. Introduce a Classic Coffered Ceiling to Your Space

This very slight difference in construction can make a huge influence on the overall design of the room. Not to mention, if you’re trying to add height to a room on an exterior wall, a cloister vault ceiling can arch up into your attic, which curves underneath your roof rafters. With this type of ceiling, you will get the exceptional drama that comes with a combination of angles and curves.

This tone is warmer than the previous one but copes with the task of visually expanding the space just as well. You can use this color for ceilings in bedrooms or rooms with windows facing north. Please note that with such ceilings, a modern interior will look uninteresting and cheap. As we witness the transformative journey of ceilings, it's evident that innovation and safety go hand in hand. Offering solutions that encapsulate the best of design and security, it heralds an era where homes aren't just beautiful sanctuaries but also resilient fortresses.

Plus, there are tons of budget-friendly design tricks to consider. You can take your pick of ornate medallions, decorative paneling, painted borders, you name it. Whether you want to refresh your living room, bedroom, kitchen or dining room, look no further than these ceiling design ideas for inspiration.

Originally, rafters were wooden beams that were used in ceilings as structural elements. These wooden beams are now the inspiration for the latest ceiling design of modular rafters. This style takes roughly the same approach as a beamed ceiling, but replaces the timber with crown molding. In most cases, you’ll see coffered ceilings displayed in an enchanting rectangular or square pattern. Like beamed ceilings, coffered ceilings, and tray ceilings, the coffered variety is a great way to add visual interest and depth. Take your ceiling design to dramatic heights with exciting wooden ceiling ideas.

Just keep in mind that wallpapering the ceiling works best with traditional wallpaper as opposed to peel and stick, and is a task better left to professionals. So, this is probably a better idea for homeowners than renters. Still, Sinclair notes it’s not impossible to use this type of wallpaper. However, it may need to be reinforced because it can come down easily from ceilings.

Therefore, one can go for a black and white color scheme- black for the panel at the center, and white for the rest of the ceiling. For a living room, the best decorative lighting option is a majestic chandelier. Functional lights are not a requirement because the room gets good natural light. Every new project has its own set of requirements, expectations, and limitations. As a result, you might have to plan new ceiling designs every time.

Land Cruiser Overview

toyota land cruise price

There’s no word on whether these will even be available at the dealer level as an accessory. However, as we said in the exterior section, nothing makes a statement quite like a Toyota Land Cruiser, and we suppose that should make up in some way for the bland feature list. The new Land Cruiser rides on a double-wishbone front and multilink rear suspension equipped with twin-tube shocks and rear coil springs. Surprisingly, however, ground clearance measures only 8.5 inches for all models, the same as a Subaru Crosstrek. While the 31-degree approach angle impresses, the 23-degree departure angle does not. Toyota also installs a standard full-time four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case, locking center and rear differentials, and Crawl Control, an off-road cruise control system.

What are the Land Cruiser interior and in-car technology like?

Globally, you can have the LC with three rows of seats, but the Indian market will only get it as a five-seat version. At 4.98 metres, the Land Cruiser is massive, and it’s most evident in the profile view of the car, thanks to the overhangs and the shape of the roofline. The massive tail lamps wrap around the edges and have intricate, vertically stacked patterns combining all the lights into one unit. It gets a large bash plate element and a silver badge just above the number plate slot. Based on my limited experience with the SUV, I like the latest Cruiser. The all-season tires, unimpressive ground clearance, and relatively shallow departure angle, however, suggest room in the lineup for a future TRD Pro or Trailhunter variant.

It’s likely some fans will remain upset that the 300 Series is not available in the U.S., but this Land Cruiser almost seems to shrug that off and is an easy contender for one of the best SUVs on the market right now. Toyota set out to take the Land Cruiser back to its roots and it largely succeeded. It may be a smaller Land Cruiser, but it’s just as capable as ever, if not more. It’s been one of Toyota’s preeminent badges for seven decades, worn by its most capable off-roaders around the globe. And, yet, the latest 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser warrants a reintroduction because the SUV took a brief hiatus from the U.S. market in 2021 only to return this year in the wake of the massive popularity of the off-road segment. Beyond Zero is our vision to reach beyond carbon neutrality with our products, services and operations, and find new ways to create a better world.

Interior & Technology      Passenger & Cargo Space      Performance & Fuel Economy

We’ll have to wait to compare the Land Cruiser and the new 4Runner, even if Toyota says no one will cross-shop the two. There will be three available trims at launch, from the base 1958 model to the simple but confusingly named Land Cruiser middle trim. The top-of-the-line model is called the First Edition, and it’s limited to 5,000 units for 2024. Toyota refused to disclose whether these are all sold out already, so it’s possible that you could get your hands on one but it won’t come cheap. EPA-estimated fuel economy stands at 22 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.

Where did the buyer find this car?

toyota land cruise price

That puts the new model at a 55-horsepower deficit to the previous one, but thanks to the power of turbocharging and electric motors, the new Land Cruiser is up 64 pound-feet of torque. Towing maxes out at 6,000 pounds, a number that will come as a disappointment for many, since the previous Land Cruiser was rated for 8,100 pounds. The India-spec LC300 is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel producing 304bhp and a “healthy” 700Nm of torque. Just an old-school V6 engine torque for all the motivation that you need. This vehicle wouldn’t be a Land Cruiser if it didn’t have some smart terrain-conquering technology in the form of 6+ drive modes and a transfer case for proper AWD application.

Interior

Most of those figures would be better than the last Land Cruiser, but not quite as good as the current 4Runner. All told, the Land Cruiser is one of the better SUVs for actually off-roading, largely because it’s a literal SUV, with body-on-frame construction. The key differentiator between Land Cruiser versions is the presence of the new manually disconnecting stabilizer bar that improves wheel articulation. The manual disconnection is better for that, and it still does wonders while traversing the gnarly off-road events.

Unlike a traditional crossover where the seats fold forward, this setup robs space on the side walls, but it also creates a flat floor. For over 60 years, this model has conquered the world’s harshest terrain without missing a beat. Models have grown in size over the years and have gained more creature comforts in the process. Proactive Driving AssistThis is one of those features you need to experience to appreciate.

VEHICLES

The middle trim has rectangular LED headlights that nod to the 60 series, specifically the FJ62. It’s hard to pick which looks better because both nail the retro look. You could say the 1958 is more retro, but two-tone paint is only available on upper trims and the white roof is a Land Cruiser staple. Land Cruiser’s full-time 4-wheel-drive system provides power continuously to the front and rear axles to improve traction and stability on various surfaces.

You can position the driver's seat high for an excellent view forward over the low and flat hood, and it's easy to tell where the Cruiser's front corners are. If you choose the standard Land Cruiser, your only option is a $2,220 rear-seat entertainment package with a DVD player, two 11.6-inch screens, wireless headphones, a remote, RCA jacks, and an HDMI input. Just take a look through the long list of dealer-installed accessories.

The integrated electric motor supplies immediate torque for rock crawling, and the brake and accelerator pedals are easy to modulate when creeping along without Crawl Control. This is the first time a Land Cruiser has offered a hybrid drivetrain, and while the shift from a 5.7-liter V8 to a 2.4-liter four cylinder might sound like a recipe for disappointment, it isn’t. Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid leverages an electric motor for low-RPM, low-speed torque and a turbocharge for high-rpm, high-speed horsepower. Driving the new 5,000-pound Land Cruiser on a repurposed motocross course, with long, steep inclines that would betray any power deficiencies, illustrated the opposite.

This is the same one that underpins the Tundra, Sequoia, Tacoma, Land Cruiser 300, and the upcoming 4Runner. So, even though this new Cruiser is “just” a Prado, it shares much with the full-size Land Cruiser sold overseas. The Toyota SUV that returned is not the same as the one that left, and I don’t mean that metaphorically. This U.S.-spec Land Cruiser is the 250 series, known as the Land Cruiser Prado in nearly all markets abroad. The previous available model was the Land Cruiser 200 series, which was succeeded by the comparatively burlier 300 series.

However, my 1958 Edition wore 245/70R-18 Yokohama Geolander X-CV all-season tires. Your choices really couldn’t be more simple when selecting a 2021 Land Cruiser. Opt for the Heritage Land Cruiser, and you’ll have the choice of it being in 2-row/5-passenger form or 3-row/8-passenger form like the regular model. The brawny Land Cruiser has some styling cues that tie it to past models, and its most recent update added an attractive grille and LED lighting to the vehicle’s somewhat simple and blocky design.

Our quick, grade-heavy jaunt did the hybrid powertrain no favors, but this performance-oriented hybrid seems abundantly up to the task of moving a little over 5,000 pounds of Land Cruiser. Road holding seemed to be commendable given the body-on-frame structure, off-road-oriented suspension and high-profile all-season tires. There are the telltale wiggles and jiggles over bumps, and much like the mechanically related Sequoia, I would suspect that the available 20-inch wheels may amplify that sensation. Toyota calls it an “off-road cruise control.” And, yeah, that sounds about right. It confidently got the Land Cruiser over rocks, muddy ruts, babbling brooks, and up and down steep hills. The decision between trims could come down to the added interior and off-road tech of the middle and higher trims.

Toyota chose to bring the Land Cruiser 300 to the States only as the Lexus LX 600. The latest Toyota Land Cruiser is a little smaller and a little cheaper than before, but it’s every bit as capable on the trail. Land Cruiser shown in Heritage Blue with Grayscape roof with available Premium Package and 20-in. This is a profoundly different SUV than the last Land Cruiser, for better and for worse.
